The release of Far Cry 6 is just around the corner. Citizens of Yara await us with apprehension to help them in a battle against "El Presidente" Antón Castillo, the cruel dictator of this fictional Caribbean island.

If you are eager to help them and can't wait to join the rebels as Dani Rojas, the main character of the game, you will probably want to make sure that you have everything prepared upfront before the actual release of the game, so that you can simply relax and start playing the game immediately once it releases.

What time does Far Cry 6 come out?

Far Cry 6 is set to be released on 7th October and the game will become available at midnight local time.

  • Xbox Series X - 39 GB
  • PC - 60 GB

Information for a previous-gen version is not yet available, but it might take less space due to not having 4K textures and other high-quality visual elements.

How to pre-load Far Cry 6

No matter if you play on PlayStation, Xbox, or PC, there will be an option for preloading the game, which will allow you to have the game ready on time when it becomes available.

Far Cry 6 will become available for preload on 5th September for consoles, Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Connect (former Uplay).

For the PC version of the game, once the preload becomes available and if you have pre-purchased the game, simply find your copy of the game on your Epic Games Store/Ubisoft Connect accounts and click on "download" to start installing the game.

How to pre-load Far Cry 6 on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One?

  • From the Xbox home screen, open "My games and apps"
  • Select "Games"
  • Find Far Cry 6 and select it
  • Press "A" to open the installation menu
  • Select "Manage installation on Internal"
  • If the game is available for download you will be able to checkmark "will install"
  • Select "Save changes" and you will be able to see your game downloading
  • Make sure that the console is on or in standby mode while the game is being downloaded or you will interrupt the process

How to preload Far Cry 6 on PS4/PS5

When the preload becomes available, if you preordered the game, it will appear in your collection of PlayStation games.

  • From the PlayStation home screen, open your library.
  • Select "Purchased" games.
  • Find Far Cry 6 and select it.
  • If the game is available for preload, the "Download" button will be available just below the icon of the game.
  • Just push the Download button and that's it, your PlayStation will start downloading Far Cry 6.
  • Make sure that the console is on or in standby mode while the game is being downloaded or you will interrupt the process.

Of course, one final thing you need to know before diving into guerilla warfare against El Presidente, is if your system will be strong enough to run Far Cry 6 smoothly.

  • RAM: 16GB of RAM (Dual-channel)
  • Storage: 60GB of Storage
  • Windows 10 64-bit

Recommended 1440p @ 60 FPS Ultra Preset 

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X / Intel Core i7-9700K
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT / Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super
  • RAM: 16GB of RAM (Dual-channel)
  • Storage: 60GB of Storage
  • Windows 10 64-bit
